CannaButter Machine – Frequently Asked Questions

Troubleshooting & Warranty

Q: What happens if my CannaButter Machine needs service or repair under the warranty?

A: Every CannaButter Machine comes with a 1-year NZ warranty. If you experience an issue, contact our support team and we’ll help with repair or replacement.

Q: My machine is beeping or won’t start, what do I do?

A: First, check that the pitcher is filled between the MIN and MAX lines and that the head is seated properly. If the problem continues, unplug, wait 30 seconds, and restart.

Q: Why won’t the CannaButter Machine operate when filled below the MIN line or above the MAX line?

A: The machine is designed with safety sensors. Always fill between the lines for proper blending and heating.

Q: Why is my machine making a high-pitched whistle/squeal?

A: This can happen if ingredients are too low or too thick. Make sure you have the right amount of liquid and ingredients.

Ingredients & Usage

Q: Can I use margarine instead of butter?

A: We recommend using real, unsalted butter or coconut oil for best results. Margarine may separate and affect potency.

Q: Can I use salted butter?

A: Yes, but unsalted butter is preferred to better control flavour and recipes.

Q: What type of oil can I use?

A: Coconut oil, olive oil, and canola oil all work well. Coconut oil (especially MCT oil) is most popular for infusions.

Q: What is the maximum amount of herb I can add?

A: Do not exceed the MAX line. A general guide is 7–14g per cup of butter or oil, depending on desired strength.

Q: Do I need to decarb my herbs before using the machine?

A: Yes, decarboxylation is recommended for maximum potency. Bake your herbs in the oven at 115–120°C before adding.

Results & Storage

Q: How long does it take to make butter or oil?

A: The standard cycle runs between 1–2 hours depending on the recipe.

Q: How much can it make at once?

A: Between 2–5 cups per cycle.

Q: How long will my infused butter or oil last?

A: Stored in the fridge, up to 3–4 weeks. In the freezer, up to 6 months.

Q: Can I freeze infused butter or oil?

A: Yes, freezing extends shelf life without reducing potency.

Q: Does the infusion lose potency over time?

A: Potency may decrease slightly after several months. Freezing is best for long-term storage.

Cleaning & Care

Q: How do I clean the CannaButter Machine

A: Simply add water and a drop of dish soap, then run the self-clean cycle. Rinse thoroughly afterwards.

Q: Does the machine smell during use?

A: Some aroma is natural when infusing herbs, but much less than stovetop methods. Using a well-ventilated space is recommended.

Q: How should I store the machine?

A: Clean after use, dry fully, and store in a cool, dry place.
